Short version: Clean Image does not collect, store, sell or share any data about you or your images.

What the extension does

Clean Image removes metadata (C2PA Content Credentials, EXIF, XMP, IPTC and similar blocks) from PNG, JPEG and WebP images that you choose, and saves a cleaned copy to your computer.

How your images are handled

• All processing happens locally, inside your browser.
• Images are never uploaded to any server. The extension has no server.
• When you use “Download clean image”, the image is read from the page you are on, cleaned in memory and saved through a normal browser download.
• Nothing is kept after the cleaned file is saved.

Data we collect

None. Clean Image has no account system, analytics, telemetry, advertising or tracking, and it loads no remote code.

Permissions

• contextMenus: adds the “Download clean image” item to the right-click menu on images.
• activeTab: gives temporary access to the current tab, only after you choose that menu item.
• scripting: runs the bundled cleaning script in that tab so it can read the image you clicked.

The extension cannot read any page until you choose “Download clean image” on it.

This website uses no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts. Your hosting provider may keep standard server logs.
